The Hügel Haus, Big Powderhorn Village

Leaving the dog in a kennel is the reason a lot of people skip a ski weekend entirely. Four of our eight units take dogs.

Which units

Units 5, 6, 7 and 8. Each is one bedroom, sleeping four, same as the rest of the Hügel Haus. If you are travelling with another family who also has a dog, two of them side by side works well.

What a dog actually does here

Gogebic County is a good place to be a dog. Snow-covered forest roads, quiet trails and, once the ski day is done, plenty of walking straight from the door. Parks and hiking in the area is a decent starting list.

What to bring

A towel by the door, more than you think. Paw wax or boots if your dog has thin feet — road salt and packed snow between the pads are the two things that end a walk early. A crate if your dog is happier in one when left.

Before you book

Confirm the pet policy and any fee when you reserve rather than assuming. We would rather sort it out on the phone than at the door.
